Actual-Facts Email Advertising Beginners Guide

Advertising by email is a quick, simple and affordable method to get your business seen on the web.  You can advertise to literally thousands of potential customers easily online.

There are 3 main types of email advertising.

Newsletter Advertising: It is amazing that so many people own a newsletter. There are newsletters made to suit everyone’s needs and interests whether you are a doctor, vet, car manufacturer, have your own business at home, furniture dealer…etc.

Advertising your business/service with an online newsletter is a fantastic method to give important resources to customers in a simple-to-read, useful layout, which also draws attention to your business.

Advertising newsletters are read more often than a lot of other email marketing methods which are often deleted by the receiver, who do not look at them much.  Newsletters can be also written in such a way to not make it sound like an ad because you can create it to be very informative and yet lead them to your business.

Bulk E-Mail Advertising: Bulk email is one of the most disliked advertising methods on the internet.  Sure it is cheap and you can reach thousands of customers but they do look a lot like SPAM. A lot of email readers will click delete on these emails without barely looking at them.   It is alright though, to send bulk emails to an emailing list that has been on the net for a few years, has a good reputation and has received permission from the recipients.  Don’t send out to emailing lists that you have paid for and send more advertising than information. It can ruin your own reputation and you can lose people who would have otherwise been interested to learn more about your business/service and or product.   Use caution when using this method of advertising.

Opt-In E-Mail Advertising: This form of advertising is like bulk email advertising because the emails are sent to a large number of people.  But Opt-In-Email Advertising is considered better than bulk email advertising because great care is used to compile the business email address directory.  A lot of time is spent to make sure that each person who is in the directory has shown an interest and has accepted to receive your email. .  Many online businesses use Opt-in- Emails to mail out announcements, updates, discounts, special etc.  Email Marketing gets your information out must faster than any other form of conventional advertising method.  Opt-In-Marketing is also very affordable.

It is important to have a good solid customer base so you can keep in contact with them.  Allow the customer to then forward the important information to potential clients via email which is an automated “word-of-mouth” technique.

Opt-In-Email Advertising is an important marketing tool for most online businesses if used correctly. Make sure that your messages are not missed and end up deleted as junk email and not read.
